Flannel is a soft and resistant fabric made of carded cotton yarn, with a diagonal weave. Following the weaving, the fabric was subjected to a process called fulling, which makes it compact and uniform. The last process the fabric has undergone before being cut and packaged is the brushing to make the surface of the fabric slightly hairy. The layer of fluff that is created with the raising process makes it particularly warmand insulating, while maintaining its characteristic lightness.
